Community Solar Array Investment
The SCCSA gratefully acknowledges grants from the Sunshine Coast Community Foundation to allow us to investigate the possibility of a Community Solar Array and/or developing a Community Solar Co-operative in order to further community participation in clean energy solutions and promote solar on the Sunshine Coast.
The first report in this regard was completed in March 2017:

We are working towards making this a reality.
We are currently looking for owners of potential building sites and arrange for installation of the array at the chosen site. The array will be owned by the community investors and the property owner will pay a small premium on the cost of electricity to obtain locally produced, green energy for their building. The SCCSA has partnered with Solshare (http://www.solshare.ca/) to provide the operations and manage the financial responsibilities of this project.
A public meeting was held on April 7, 2018 regarding the community solar array and other SCCSA activities. The slides from that meeting are available here.
For more information on the Community Solar Array, please Gerry Pageau at [email protected]
